There is nothing better than good and big movies releasing, audience crowding in theatres, collections pouring in and box office records getting broken and recreated. After a long wait, Bollywood box office saw a huge positive atmosphere in theatres. In the month of January of 2017, Bollywood box office has collected incredible 350+ crore. Amazing, isn’t it?
Aamir Khan’s Dangal took the film community and India by a storm. Ever since its release, each day was a festival for everyone, be it a filmy buff, box office analysts or theatre owners. The collections this film brought in were one of the best anyone ever saw. Although Dangal was released in December 2016, its earning streak continued in January as well and it earned big. Dangal minted around 160 crore in January and became the Highest Grossing Film of All Time in India with 385 crore collections.
The biggest clash of 2017 again brought the box office alive when Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil released on 25th January. Fortunately, both the films were loved by the audience and it benefited their earnings in a powerful way. Raees minted 109 crore in 7 days while Kaabil collected 79 crore, thus making the January month huge in earnings for Bollywood.
Apart from these big films, Ok Jaanu and Haraamkhor also made some contributions to the box office. Ok Jaanu didn’t make any impact but it managed to bring in around 21 crore and Haraamkhor around 1 crore.
So, in total, all these films gave a business of more than 350 crore in January to Bollywood box office. This is a massive collection and days like these are golden ones to have for any industry. One can hope such days keep coming so that the Bollywood community will flourish even more.
