Vidya Balan’s Tumhari Sulu has taken a slow start in theaters as the crowd is not looking much on its opening day for morning shows. However, it is expected as content driven movies pick up pace afterwards as reviews begin pouring in combined with a positive word of mouth.
The morning box office occupancy for Tumhari Sulu is around 10-15%. With a well accepted trailer and decent songs, the fill rate could have been at least 20% but Vidya Balan’s last few films have not done well at box office so Tumhari Sulu will be taking its time.
Being a slice of life movie, families and urban audience will be coming for it. It is facing a competition from Justice League although it is not as huge as one would have anticipated.
Good thing for Tumhari Sulu is that it doesn’t have any threat from the holdover releases but it still needs to show a good sustenance over the weekend otherwise it will be hard for it to recover its costs.
