Salman Khan’s Tubelight has finally witnessed growth on its 3rd day. Although the rise is not big, it’s a welcome change for the film which was seeing a below expectation response from audience.
Tubelight collected 22.45 crore on its 1st Sunday to make its total 64.77 crore in its opening weekend. The occupancy for the film improved in afternoon and evening shows on Sunday.
Here are Tubelight’s Opening Weekend Box Office Collections:
Friday – 21.15 crore
Saturday – 21.17 crore
Sunday – 22.45 crore
Total Collections – 64.77 crore
The film should see a growth today as well because being an Eid holiday, the audience can tun up in big numbers for the film. Tubelight has got a majority of response from North India but the earnings from Mumbai are not very strong.
Comparing with Salman Khan’s previous Eid releases, Tubelight is the 6th highest opening weekend grosser:
Sultan – 105.53 crore
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 102.60 crore
Ek Tha Tiger – 100.16 crore
Bodyguard – 88.75 crore
Kick – 83.83 crore
Tubelight – 64.77 crore
The reviews and word of mouth for this film have been very poor and its emotional content didn’t connect with audience which is proving to be a hurdle in its collections. After today, Tubelight’s big test will come as the weekdays will be taking its response further down. Let’s see how it fares ahead.
