You won’t see such box office report often for Salman Khan’s films as his movies are known to break records with massive collections but sadly his latest release Tubelight is turning out to be an exception. After a below expectation opening day, the film has not grown on its 2nd day.
With only a slight improvement in its occupancy and footfalls, Tubelight has collected 21.17 crore on its 1st Saturday which is definitely not up to the mark. Traditionally, Saturday earnings are more than its previous day but Tubelight is simply not growing as audience is reluctant to turn up in big numbers.
Tubelight Box Office Collections:
Friday – 21.15 crore
Saturday – 21.17 crore
Total Collections – 42.32 crore
21 crore is still a huge number to mint but considering it a Salman Khan film, the collections should have been in the range of 25 crore. The total of Tubelight in 2 days is only 42.32 crore. This pretty much tells the tale of its disappointing run.
Sunday and Monday are the only two days now, which can be expected to bring in big bucks. Monday being an Eid holiday, its numbers can take a massive rise but it still remains to be seen as so far, its earning pattern is not very healthy.
Tubelight will find it very hard to touch the 200 crore mark if it keeps such trend and it can even become a disaster as the reviews and word of mouth for it have been negative. Its emotional content didn’t connect with audience.
Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight also stars Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, Om Puri and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub.
