Salman Khan’s Tubelight has disappointed at box office. In its first week itself, its fate has been declared and it’s a flop. This is the first time in this decade his film has fared this way. The very fact that the film won’t even touch the 150 crore, states how poorly it has performed as Salman’s previous films have been blockbusters.
Tubelight has collected 106.86 crore in its first week. The earnings dropped hugely on Wednesday and Thursday.
Here are Tubelight’s 1st Week Box Office Collections:
Friday – 21.15 crore
Saturday – 21.17 crore
Sunday – 22.45 crore
Monday (Eid) – 19.09 crore
Tuesday – 12 crore
Wednesday – 6.50 crore
Thursday – 4.50 crore
Total 1st Week: 106.86 crore
The occupancy in weekdays had been average and it will go further down in 2nd weekend. The screens for the film have also been reduced which is very rare. The new releases will get a good number of shows as Tubelight is not attracting decent crowd.
It is looking very hard for the film to surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees’ lifetime total of 139 crore. The distributors and exhibitors have suffered huge losses.
Despite all these, Tubelight is currently the 6th Highest Grossing Film of 2017. How much further it goes, remains to be seen. Directed by Kabir Khan, it also stars Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, Om Puri and Matin Rey Tangu.
