Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is getting an average response so far from its morning shows on first day. It was expected that the crowd will be coming in big numbers due to its huge buzz and interest level but the footfalls are not impressive. The advance booking from Wednesday till Friday morning is already low but even the spontaneous bookings is not strong.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is witnessing an occupancy of around 20-25%. This is not a good sign for the movie and considering the trend that Bollywood is experiencing in last couple of months, even TEPK might face the same treatment from the audience if it continues this pattern.
The response from metro cities is not good but small towns and single screens are giving it good footfalls, It is also logical because open defecation is a problem dominant in rural areas and in small cities so there, it has more relevance.
The reviews from the critics are good so the situation will improve for afternoon and evening shows. The screen count for Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is 3000 in India. It is a mass population film so PAN India response is expected from it.
Metro cities are not showing a strong hold for TEPK. Audience’s word of mouth is positive but that needs to transform into massive footfalls. Being a social topic, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha can show growth in night shows and also, over the weekend.
