Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has released from today in 3000 screens in India. Surprisingly, it has taken an average opening of 20-25% in morning shows in most cities. The topic of TEPK is about lack of toilets in our country so it has more relevance in small cities and rural areas. Its occupancy in small centers with single screens is good.
However, to mint a strong opening, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will need to show a big growth and footfalls in evening and night shows from multiplexes of metro cities. TEPK is getting good reviews from critics and the audience is also enjoying its funny narrative combined with a vital message.
The positive trending will benefit the movie as the day progresses. Of course, the opening won’t be huge as Akshay is not in macho action hero role in the film. But, with good word of mouth, its occupancy will become healthy and can touch the 40-50% fill rate.
Audience is preferring the content driven movies in recent times so there are very good chances that Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will grow big. Its 1st day collections can be around 12-13 crore. It can even exceed it if grows right from afternoon shows.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a solo release of the week and last week’s release Jab Harry Met Sejal is not performing well. So, there is not any worry of competition. Mubarakan is running fair but it doesn’t pose any threat to TEPK. In a nutshell, there are many favorable aspects for the movie.
