Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha crossed the 100 crore mark in 8 days and it helped Bollywood stand on its feet again. The film witnessed a highly impressive 96 crore opening week but its 2nd weekend has gone down a little bit due to the new releases Annabelle: Creation and Bareilly Ki Barfi.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s 10th day box office morning occupancy is almost similar but fractionally better to its previous day. It is showing a fill rate of 25-30%. The percentage could have been better as today is a holiday. North India is better than rest of the country for TEPK in terms of bookings.
Hollywood horror movie Annabelle: Creation is actually dominating the theaters this week with more than 60% occupancy right from its paid previews till Sunday. It is giving a stiff competition to TEPK. Moreover, Bareilly Ki Barfi is also carrying a positive word of mouth and it is getting a marvelous response too, further affecting Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s footfalls.
TEPK will grow compared to its Saturday collections. but not by a great margin. Its afternoon and evening bookings are healthy although one would have expected better. Overall, the 10th day occupancy will be around 45-50%.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will cross the 110 crore mark by the end of its 2nd weekend and it needs to sustain in weekdays too, to grab a powerful lifetime total.
