It’s rare to see an Aamir Khan movie that is struggling at the box office. Over the years, his movies have opened 200, 300 and 350 crore clubs for Bollywood but his latest film Thugs Of Hindostan is witnessing a dull response from the audience and may not sustain for long in theaters.
On its 3rd day, Thugs Of Hindostan has gone further down. Its morning occupancy was merely 25% while overall 3rd day occupancy is only 40% which means there is another weak day on the cards for this Diwali entertainer. There is not much pull from the film for the audience.
Thugs Of Hindostan has got negative reviews from critics and poor word of mouth from the audience. After collecting humongous 52 crore on its opening day, it witnessed a big drop on 2nd day, minting only 28 crore. On its 3rd day too, its collections may be in the range of 20-25 crore, one will have to see how its night shows fare. There is a possibility that TOH can even collect less than 20 crore when the final numbers come in if its night shows don’t attract the crowd.
Another big problem for TOH is that single screens and mass circuits are giving it a major response but multiplexes are very dull in terms of footfalls. This is not at all common for Aamir Khan’s films.
This is a worrisome sign for Thugs Of Hindostan. It couldn’t earn to its potential. Before the release, it was even expected to go past the 400 crore mark but now, 200 crore mark is looking difficult for it.
If there’s no growth on Saturday, then Sunday will be weak, too. This means, Thugs Of Hindostan’s extended opening weekend will be underperforming.
Keep following this space as we will be constantly updating the occupancy and collection estimates for Thugs Of Hindostan every hour.
