Evergreen romantic movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge completed 23 years now. It has defined an era and a generation and is still doing so. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has described his film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ as a very special genre and thanked the fans for keeping the characters of the film Raj and Simran alive.
‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ) completed its 23rd year on October 19. Shah Rukh tweeted on Tuesday, “A special journey started 23 years ago is still going on, your love has kept the story of Raj and Simran alive for 1200 weeks on a large screen. Thanks for that. ”
DDLJ is running continuously for 1,009 weeks at Maratha Mandir in Mumbai. In the year 1996, the film won 10 Filmfare Awards including Best Film, Best Actress and Best Director. ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ was SRK’s first film directed by Aditya Chopra.
Kajol is the female lead in the film with Shah Rukh Khan. After DDJL, SRK-Kajol were also seen in movies like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘Dilwale’. Recently, Karan Johar had organized a celebration for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Shah Rukh is busy preparing for his forthcoming film “Zero”. This film is directed by Anand L. Rai and the film will also star Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Salman Khan is going to be doing the special appearance in the film too. Zero is releasing on December 21.
