Salman Khan’s Tubelight failing at box office is definitely a major surprise of 2017. No one would have expected such a dismal performance of his film and that too, during Eid release date. From critics to audience, everyone rejected the film as its emotional content didn’t make a mark.
So far, Tubelight has collected around 120 crore. It is a flop as producers have sold the film at a higher price and distributors have suffered huge losses. There were reports that many exhibitors and distributors had come to Mumbai to ask Salman to help them recover their losses.
According to recent reports, Salman Khan has agreed to refund the distributors who suffered losses from Tubelight. The meeting was held at Salman’s residence. Reportedly, he is going to pay 55 crores to distributors. This surely a great gesture from him.
Film industry is like a family and helping each other during their tough time is always a gentleman thing to do. Tt shows the trust and is healthy for a better future. Shah Rukh Khan had also refunded a good amount during Dilwale.
While most Salman Khan’s films go on to become blockbusters and highest grossers of the year with 200-300 crore total, Tubelight is not even crossing the 125 crore mark. It is directed by Kabir Khan.
