The box office collections are not looking good for Shahid Kapoor’s Rangoon. The film already had a poor opening weekend with 18 crore in 3 days and the weekdays are going further down. The movie is simply not finding any audience to make a decent mark.
On its 4th day (1st Monday), Rangoon collected 1.20 crore to make the total of 19.97 crore. These are not impressive numbers, especially when there is a brilliant cast like Shahid, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut and a director like Vishal Bhardwaj.
By this pace, the film won’t even be able to recover its costs. Weekdays will keep going down in collections and it is looking like a one week affair as its 1st week itself is very poor. A 25 crore opening week is on the table but after that, there is no hope for the film.
Rangoon is the third time Bhardwaj and Shahid have come together for a film after Kaminey and Haider. It is a story of a love triangle in times of war.
