Most awaited pairing on-screen; Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are coming together for a fantasy drama, Brahmastra and now the trilogy’s first chapter gets a new release date, Christmas 2019. The film is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and will be bankrolled by Karan Johar helmed Dharma Productions.
Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar just took to his social media profile and shared the message from the film along with the new release date confirmation. He wrote, “PART 1!!!! #BRAHMASTRA #CHRISTMAS2019 @DharmaMovies written and directed by AYAN MUKERJI”
The film is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, it also stars an incredible and talented ensemble of Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy.
After making family oriented drama films, this is first time Dharma productions is venturing into the world of fantasy adventure series which will be a trilogy. This venture is a joint collaboration of Fox Star Studios and Namit Malhotra.
The first part was earlier slated for August 15, 2019 release but it has been postponed to Christmas 2019, due to heavy visual effects and post-production work. The film has been shot in Bulgaria.
Ayan had said in a statement previously that Brahmastra “is set in India as it exists today but the name of the film is Brahmastra because the energy, wisdom and powers in the film come from ancient India.”
Alia Bhatt was last seen in Raazi and she will also be seen in Gully Boy, co-starring Ranveer Singh.
