In recent times, Indian films are making big money at domestic as well as international markets. With Dangal and Baahubali 2‘s raging success, the distributors are showing huge confidence and interest in big budget movies.
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is one of the biggest films in coming months and looks like, it is already on course to make grand bucks even before its release.
The Hindi theatrical rights of 2.0 have been reportedly sold for massive 80 crore. This is huge and it proves what kind of gigantic film it is going to be.
Earlier, we had also reported that the satellite rights of 2.0 have been acquired by Zee Network for 110 crore. So, despite being in post-production stage currently, 2.0 has already done a business of around 200 crore, that’s the power of a visionary cinema.
2.0 is a sequel to 2010’s blockbuster film Enthiran (Hindi title: Robot). It will see Akshay Kumar for the first time in a South Indian film and he is playing a negative role in the movie.
There are enormous expectations from 2.0 as its VFX is said to be outstanding and at par with Hollywood standards. Recently, director of 2.0, Shankar had also said that they are postponing the release from Diwali 2017 to 25th January, 2018 as they want ultra quality VFX and won’t compromise on that.
2.0 is one of the most expensive films of India and it is said to release with more than 7000 screens in India and in 15 languages worldwide.
Truly exciting times for Indian Cinema!
