Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta is making a good buzz in film community. Covering a love triangle and a topic of reincarnation, the film’s music is also very well received by fans. Raabta also stars Jim Sarbh and it is directed by Dinesh Vijan. It is releasing on 9th June, 2017.

Here’s our Music Review on Raabta:

Music Director: Pritam, JAM 8

Lyricists: Amitabh Bhattacharya, Irshad Kamil

Ik Vaari Aa

Ik Vaari Aa is an effortlessly smooth track which shows the sweet longing of two people for each other. Pritam has crafted the music with a sheer depth. The song has a beautiful affection and Arijit Singh is in absolute form with his mesmerizing voice. There is an irresistible zeal in Arijit’s singing that makes Ik Vaari Aa a passionate romantic track. Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics are sensible. This is one of the best songs from the album and definitely worthy of playing on loop.

Raabta (Title Track)

A recreation of  ‘Raabta’ song from ‘Agent Vinod’, the song has preserved the essence of original. Recently, there have been many failed attempts in remixing the old songs from Bollywood but Pritam has given a very genuine musical treatment to Raabta. Hats off to Nikhita Gandhi for the lively voice which lifts the track. The amazement of beats and singing describe the love perfectly. That starting slow and then picking up the pace of the song by Pritam is wonderful.

Sadda Move

Due to having a list of passionate songs like Ik Vaari Aa and Raabta (Title Track), Sadda Move comes off as an average track. Its peppy beats don’t excite the mood as one would expect. The singing of Diljit Singh Dosanjh and Pardeep Singh Sran and rapping by Raftaar is not impressive. The song does have good lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Irshad Kamil but the final product from Pritam’s music is not strong, making it an avoidable song.

Lambiyaan Si Judaiyaan

No one can touch the heart better than Arijit Singh’s songs and when it’s a sad song, his voice is the cure. Lambiyaan Si Judaiyaan grows on you with its capable and thoughtful composing. Initially, the beats seem dull but it holds very nicely afterwards. The depiction of sorrow and heartbreak is captured rightly by JAM 8’s beats. Overall, a good addition to the album.

Main Tera Boyfriend

Main Tera Boyfriend is a catchy track with amazing fast beats, right for the party mood. But, as most party songs, it won’t have much shelf life. It’s good to listen to Arijit Singh’s voice in fun songs too, apart from his usual brilliant crooning in romantic and sad songs. Arijit and Neha Kakkar’s duet is lovely. Main Tera Boyfriend’s music is sharp and upbeat. It is way better than Sadda Move.

Darasal

Darasal is a very pleasant song with minimal music and simple melody. Atif Aslam sings it with heart and JAM8 adds passion to its music. The song flows smoothly and gives a joy to listen. The lyrics are lovely too.

Verdict:

Raabta is a very passionate music album and is a treat for romance music fans. Pritam has crafted yet another musical product that is soulful and melodious. Ik Vaari Aa and Raabta songs will grab the top spot in your playlist, such is the caliber of the composing. If you love a good piece of music, Raabta’s album will surely excite you.
