It’s natural when a movie is doing a phenomenal business, it is going to break other movies’ records. The grand film Padmaavat is doing exactly the same. After crossing the 200 crore mark, this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial is now competing with the biggies, i.e. highest grossing films of all time of Bollywood.
Padmaavat is the 1st film of 2018 to enter the 200 crore milestone. On its 2nd Monday, it has collected 7 crore and its total is 219.50 crore. This is a good earning range in the weekdays of 2nd week. If it maintains the same earning pattern, it will be riding close to 250 crore mark in coming days.
Padmaavat will be beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express (226 crore), Salman Khan’s Kick (231 crore) and Krrish 3 (244 crore) in coming days. This says a lot about the dominating box office run Padmaavat is having in theaters. Despite not being released in some states, it has collected such massive amount so just imagine what it could have done had it got a smooth pan India release. 300 crore would have been touched by now.
Padmaavat is already the highest grosser of Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and will be becoming Deepika Padukone’s highest grosser in coming days too. Surely, it is going to stay in the top league of 2018 and of all time. 200+ crore was a necessity for the makers of Padmaavat as it has got a huge budget and due to the ban and protests, its earning opportunities were hurt but audience response and love have risen it to the top spot.
