The great news for Padmaavat came on India’s Republic Day as the movie collected humongous on its 2nd day. Even with 60-70% of its actual potential screen count, Padmaavat crossed 30 crore mark in a single day. This speaks volume about the massive appeal of the film and how audience has shown extreme amount of footfalls for this periodic flick.
Padmaavat has collected 32 crore on its 1st Friday. With protests calming down in many places and police security tightening up, the environment for the film improved very much and that was clearly evident in its shows. The film saw 70-75% occupancy on average on 2nd day.
Maharashtra and South India were phenomenal as these were the safest release hubs for the film. Delhi, West Bengal were impressive too and UP-Bihar opened to many screens. The total of Padmaavat has gone beyond 50 crore, to be precise, it is 56 crore.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat has been loved by audience and even critics have given it a thumbs up. With a mega budget of around 190 crore, the movie needs such earning trend for next few days. Today and tomorrow, it will have to keep such collections. If it can keep earning in the range of 28-30 crore, it will be great.
Saturday might see a slight drop but it should not be much. Sunday will be again massive. Padmaavat should be touching the 100 crore mark in its extended opening weekend. The movie is also doing strong business at overseas markets. All in all, this is a celebration news for the makers.
