This Friday, the box office is once again looking cold as the footfalls are not healthy despite three new releases line up in theaters: Sanjay Dutt’s Bhoomi, Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar and Rajkummar Rao’s Newton.
Bhoomi is the biggest release of the three. It has got 1894 screens in India and 240 in overseas so total 2134 screens. However, its morning occupancy tells the different state. Its fill rate for morning shows is just about 5-10% which is very low.
Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar and Rajkummar Rao’s Newton are also on the same lines with Bhoomi as they are also registering a poor morning occupancy of around 5%. Newton is getting a better response in metro cities for its niche appeal and strong content.
Newton has got highly positive reviews so its occupancy might improve in evening and over the weekend but Haseena Parkar will find it difficult as its reviews are on negative side. Also, there is hardly any buzz or interest for Haseena Parkar among the movie goers.
Bhoomi being a comeback movie for Dutt, will attract some crowd, especially in single screens. Its opening day occupancy should touch the 20-25% mark otherwise things will be hard for it.
