The new release this week have failed to attract significant footfalls for their shows as audience is still preferring the 2 week old movie Baahubali 2. Both Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sarkar 3′s combined collections are less than that of Baahubali 2.
Meri Pyaari Bindu has managed to collect only 1.75 crore on its opening day (1st Friday). The film witnessed a good occupancy for evening shows but with 750 screen count in India, it could not mint more money.
This Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra starrer romantic flick has got good reviews so its business should see growth over the weekend but it still has a big competition from Baahubali 2. Being a love story, young crowd can show a good response to it in weekend. The music of the movie is a plus point. It is directed by Akshay Roy.
Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 has collected more than that of Meri Pyaari Bindu. With around 1425 crore screens in India, it collected 2.10 crore on its 1st day.
The issue with Sarkar 3 is it has got poor reviews so the word of mouth would not be good in weekend, eventually suffering to get a decent total. The occupancy for the movie from the morning shows was not good.
It was expected that Sarkar 3 would take a good opening due to the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and this franchise has created a good reputation since its last two parts but the third part has failed to entice the crowd and there has been an outright rejection from the audience for the film, except for the performance of Big B.
There is a little hope for these two new movies as S. S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 is not showing any signs of stopping. Only a good word of mouth can help them get good footfalls.
