Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal is one of the biggest films of 2017 and with SRK coming back to his signature and highly loved romantic role, the anticipation is quite grand.
The music of the film is the highlight and has taken social media by storm. The movie is directed by Imtiaz Ali and is releasing on 4th August, 2017.
Here’s our Music Review on Jab Harry Met Sejal:
Music Director: Pritam
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil
Radha is an incredibly energetic and youthful song which perfectly portrays the joy of being in love. A very powerful start from Shahid Mallya with his high pitched voice and then Sunidhi Chauhan takes over with her as usual brilliant singing. Together, they give a memorable track of romance for music lovers. Music by Pritam is lovely and lively.
Beech Beech Mein
Beech Beech Mein is a decent song but it is more of a situational track that will have its value in the film with the narrative. As a single, it doesn’t excite much. The beats never reach the threshold to impress and engross you. The music and singing is very dull.
Hands down, the best song of Jab Harry Met Sejal, Safar is a perfect summary of this film. If anyone is a true hero of the song, it is the lyricist Irshad Kamil. The words are potent and have everlasting power in them. ‘Safar ka hi tha main, safar ka raha’, ‘Sheher sheher fursaton ko bechta hoon’ ‘Jab se gaon se main sheher hua, itna kadwa ho gaya ki jeher hua’, these are some of the best poetic works you will see in recent times. Irshad is a constant lyricist for Imtiaz Ali’s films. Arijit Singh’s passion and emotion in this track is tremendously evident. This is one of the best songs of the year. Music is necessarily minimal but effective.
The Butterfly song literally flies up top with its masterful singing and high energy beats. Composed beautifully by Pritam, the track is rich and true to Punjabi rich culture. The crooning by Aman Trikha, Nooran Sisters, Dev Negi and Sunidhi Chauhan give it an authentic desi feel. The beats are fast, heavy and will entice anyone to dance. Those ‘Me Butterfly Banke’ wordings have abundance of zeal which makes the song great. Irshad Kamil’s lyrics are as always, matured. A complete entertainer.
Hawayein has its own uniqueness. It is melodious and soulful. Its beats are silent and Arijit Singh sings from heart, as always. This is the only song from the album which is deeply romantic as Radha and Butterfly and joyfully entertaining and Safar is insightful. Hawayein gives this album a proper and satisfying closure.
The music album of Jab Harry Met Sejal is one of the best of 2017. Pritam’s composing is terrific and is a beautiful piece of music. Songs like Radha and Butterfly are rich in romance and entertainment while Safar expresses the deep philosophical reality of life. Enjoy this album which is rich in romance and wisdom.
