This is a tough time for Bollywood at box office. Audience is only coming to theaters for movies with a strong content and that’s why Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal is struggling big time. It already witnessed a very average opening weekend which couldn’t even cross the 50 crore mark, an atypical performance for an SRK movie.
Now, the weekdays have started and they are going to test and hurt the business of JHMS now as already reduced footfalls will be dropping further. Today is a partial holiday of Raksha-Bandhan but that is not evident for JHMS shows as the footfalls are hardly there. The reviews and word of mouth are negative for the film.
The morning occupancy for Jab Harry Met Sejal on 4th day (1st Monday) is 15-20% which is not good and that is only in multiplexes, single screens are even lower. The occupancy for the whole day so far is not showing any signs of improvement. We fear, this is it for Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Only cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune are showing some response. Kolkata, which witnessed a huge response on JHMS’s opening day, is also witnessing a downhill occupancy now.
Evening and night shows might see some growth but it won’t be much. It will be hard for the movie to mint a double digit number on Monday, i.e. 4th day. The collections might be in the range of 6-7 crore.
