Extremely talented actress Radhika Apte has made her place in Bollywood with one after another brilliant performances. 2018 has been phenomenal for her. Radhika’s next film Baazaar is releasing on 26th October. On that occasion, Bollywood Folks interviewed Radhika Apte about the film, her role and much more.
Here are the bytes from the interview:
Radhika, what can you tell us about Baazaar?
The USP of Baazaar is good. It’s about stock market and its backdrop is stylish. You do not need to know about stock market to enjoy the movie. It shows what money means to these people.
Please tell us about your character in the movie. What compelled you to do this role?
I play the character of Priya Malhotra. She is this urban go-getter girl, who will do anything to make her dreams come true. And she is a very smart person.
I wanted to do Baazaar before I even knew the story because I was being typecast and really wanted to change that image. I wanted to be in a mainstream film and see how that feels. So, I was really interested and I liked the script. I was excited about the actors and Gaurav (director) and how he approached the role and of course, Nikkhil. That’s the reason I did the film.
Please tell us your experience working with Saif Ali Khan.
This is my 2nd project with Saif Ali Khan (Sacred Games and Baazaar) but unfortunately, we have rarely worked together. He is one of the most versatile actors. He is so good in this film as well. I wish I get to do something bigger with him.
You have always chosen good stories and now, content driven movies are getting big love from the audience. Do you see the change?
Yes, I think the films are changing slowly. This whole running around tress has gone completely. A lot of good content is coming in mainstream cinema. It’s high time that change is due. People are bored of watching the regular thing all the time.
Baazaar is a story of a businessman and his obsession for money. It stars Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh and Rohan Mehra. It is directed by Gauravv K Chawla and is releasing on 26th October, 2018.
