The first grand film of 2019, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika will be hitting the theaters on 25th January, to enjoy the Republic Day weekend. It is one of the biggest films of this year and is also one of the most talked about films in recent times. If everything works out well, this movie will set the right tone for 2019 for Bollywood.
The teaser and trailer of Manikarnika won everyone’s hearts. Kangana’s fierce avatar, her determined dialogues and the way she fights are giving the audience a clear idea as to how brilliantly she must have portrayed the role of Rani Laxmi Bai.
The story of Jhansi Ki Rani is very close to Indians and someone like Kangana playing her role is absolutely satisfying as she is as talented as she is fearless. This has made Manikarnika a very dominating project on social media. The film is looking like it has given a justice to its scale.
As an actress, Kangana Ranaut has a great fan base and her acting skills are unmatched. The trade will be hoping that these positive aspects reflect at the box office too. Audience will be turning up in big numbers for the shows of Manikarnika and if it gets critics and crowd’s thumbs up, it will be unstoppable.
Manikarnika is a solo Hindi release. There is ‘Thackeray’ which is releasing on 23rd January but apart from Maharashtra, it won’t be any threat to the movie. Being a Republic Day weekend, it will enjoy a strong holiday period. The songs like Vijayi Bhava and Bharat from the film have further boosted its buzz and now, advance booking will also strengthen its occupancy.
We think, Manikarnika can get 4500 screens in India. It is also releasing in IMAX and in different languages. Manikarnika will be collecting 15-18 crore on its opening day. Manikarnika’s best day will be 26th January which is its 2nd day (Saturday) when it can take its collections to or beyond 25 crore. It is all set to take a very strong opening weekend.
Films like these with big scale also need to receive critical acclaim which helps the audience get to the theaters. If Manikarnika clicks with the audience and Kangana gives the performance everyone is hoping for, this can be one of the top grossers of 2019.
Manikarnika also stars Jishu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongappa, Atul Kulkarni, Ankita Lokhande, Misti, Unnati Davera, Zeeshan Ayub, Rajeev kacharo, Nihar Pandya, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Manish Wadhwa. It is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut and releases on 25th January, 2019.
