Aamir Khan’s Dangal is rewriting rules in China for Indian films as it is cruising at the speed of lightening. After minting 187 crore in just 1 week, this biopic is not showing any signs of stopping; in fact its earnings are rising day by day which is magical.
On its 2nd Friday (8th Day), Dangal has collected $ 6.14 million (39.42 crore). These kind of numbers are coming from foreign markets, stating how big the film in is China. Dangal’s total collections are now $ 33.24 million (213.43 crore) in 8 days.
Dangal has crossed the 200 crore mark in China in just 8 days and that should be a record. While so many Bollywood movies can’t even do that in India, Dangal is doing it in China. It is already the Highest Grossing Indian Movie there and the way it is earning, it will be a while any Indian film beats its record.
With around 7000 screens (earlier it were 9000 screens but a cinema chain in China boycotted the film in 2000 screens), Dangal will be unstoppable in coming days too. In fact, from Wednesday, it has beaten Hollywood film Guardians of Galaxy: Vol 2, to become the top film at the Chinese box office.
It’s very rare for Indian film to beat Hollywood movie in international markets but when it’s an Aamir Khan film, anything is possible. Top Indian films in China are: Dangal, PK, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots, all Aamir Khan’s films. He is the most popular and successful Indian actor there.
Dangal can touch the 300 crore mark in China and due to its wonderful run there, its worldwide total can cross the 1000 crore milestone, the first Bollywood film to do so.
