Aamir Khan’s Dangal is only a few crore short of the grand 1000 crore milestone at China box office. It will do that by tomorrow and become the first Indian film ever to mint 1000 crore from China. Dangal is also the first Indian film now to mint $150 million from China (or from overseas markets for that matter).

Today, again being a holiday, Dangal witnessed a good occupancy and collected around $6.31 million (40.70 crore) on its 4th Tuesday, making its 26 days total $151.86 million (979.50 crore). These are enormous numbers and there was never such a time in Indian cinema’s history when 950+ crore collections were brought from a foreign country.

Here are Dangal’s day-wise collections in China so far:

Friday – $ 2.08 million (13.39 crore)

Sunday – $ 5.05 million (32.48 crore)
Monday –  $ 2.80 million (17.90 crore)
Tuesday –  $ 3.12 million (22 crore)
Wednesday – $ 3.91 million (25.22 crore)
Thursday – $ 5.18 million (33.34 crore)

2nd Week:

Monday – $ 4.95 million (31.73 crore)

Tuesday – $3.07 million (19.91 crore)
Wednesday – $2.75 million (17.81 crore)
Thursday – $2.40 million (15.49 crore)

4th Week:

Friday – $2.10 million (13.54 crore)
Saturday – $2.90 million (18.71 crore)
Sunday – $6.50 million (41.95 crore)
Monday – $7.80 million (50.45 crore)
Tuesday – $6.31 million (40.70 crore)

Total Collections – $151.86 million (979.50 crore)

This is a very proud moment for Indian cinema as our film is getting so much love from a foreign country. Dangal has collected almost triple in China than its Indian collections. It is the highest grossing Indian film, top grossing non-Hollywood film and among the Top 50 highest grosser in China.

Aamir Khan has to be applauded as he has opened the 2nd largest market for Indian films and is rewriting their future there. It will be a really long time when any Indian film can actually match or break these records and it will be mostly an Aamir Khan film.
