Saif Ali Khan starrer Chef is showing all the signs of struggle at box office as it is not witnessing much growth in theaters. The occupancy is not strong so the rise that should have been there on 2nd day is lacking.
Low buzz and interest has hurt the film and even with decent reviews, it is not finding the audience for its shows. Being an urban film, only multiplexes of metro cities is its major target audience and this audience is preferring last week’s release Judwaa 2 over it.
Chef had collected 1.05 crore on its opening day and it got a marginal growth on Saturday, minting 1.35 crore. The total of the film is now only 2.40 crore which is very low for a Saif starrer.
These are not good prospects for a film. If it is getting such a dismal response in opening weekend, the weekdays will be brutal. Even 1 crore mark is looking difficult for Chef.
Family stories do well in India but Chef is turning out to be exception in that regard as even families are staying away from the film. A hard phase lies ahead for the film.
