Two new Bollywood releases are hitting the theaters this Friday, Mom and Guest iin London. After Salman Khan’s Tubelight panned at box office, these movies have no hurdles to cross except getting a good response from the audience.
After the amazing performance in English Vinglish (2012), Sridevi is once again geared up to impress the movie buffs with her impeccable acting. This time, it’s a mystery thriller Mom. The teaser and trailers have raised a good curiosity and interest to watch the film.
Sridevi’s efforts to save her daughter and family, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s dark and unique look and Akshaye Khanna’s powerful presence with dark narrative, make Mom a very good case to watch this Friday. Being a content driven film, Mom will need good reviews so that it can grow in evening shows and over the weekend.
Sridevi has a big fan base so that can be a good sign but opening day won’t be massive. Mom can take up an opening of 3 crore. If its plot works, then audience can spread the word and it will witness a good crowd afterwards.
Kartik Aaryan and Paresh Rawal’s comedy flick Guest iin London is another release this week. Based on the same concept of 2010 film ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?’ which was liked by the audience, its trailer is well received but the buzz for it is not decent.
The songs have also not made any mark. However, Kartik Aaryan’s performance in ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ has made him a reputable actor and Paresh Rawal’s comic timing is unmatched so if it connects with the crowd, even it can grow over the weekend.
Guest iin London will collect around 1.5-2 crore on its opening day. Mom will have more screens than Guest iin London.
