Begum Jaan is not showing any decent footfalls for its shows and now, the weekdays have taken that situation further down. The film already had a dull opening weekend.
It collected 1.87 crore on its 4th day (1st Monday) and the total becomes 13.35 crore. Combining the poor reviews and dull response from the audience, Begum Jaan is looking like it will not even touch the 20 crore mark.
VIdya Balan’s films aren’t known to do big business at box office but such weak response was not expected either. Good thing for the makers is that it is made at a very controlled budget (around 19-20 crore) so the film might not be a failure as it sounds from its numbers. Also, the movie has got the 2 crore from the Jharkhand Government.
It should earn in the same range at least for the next 3 days after which its screens are anyways going to reduce as Sonakshi Sinha’s Noor is releasing.
Begum Jaan also stars Ila Arun, Pallavi Sharda, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajit Kapoor, Gauhar Khan and Naseeruddin Shah. It is directed by Srijit Mukherji.
