This Friday, Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu is hitting the theaters. Both Shahid and Shraddha are riding high on the success of their previous films, i.e. Padmaavat and Stree, respectively. With Batti Gul Meter Chalu (BGMC), they will be taking on a social topic.
The film BGMC talks about the electricity problems in India. The trailer of Batti Gul Meter Chalu has received mixed response but its music has pretty much made up for it. The buzz for the movie is good but it could have been much better, considering Shahid and Shraddha have a huge fan base.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu can take an opening of around 6-7 crore. If audience loves the film, it can easily grow over the weekend and collect 30 crore in 3 days. It doesn’t have much competition as Manmarziyaan is not going to be the threat for it and Stree, although still doing well, will be wearing off with its buzz.
Director Shree Narayan Singh previously directed Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha so his reputation is positive and it will help Batti Gul Meter Chalu in theaters. It will grab around 2500-2800 screens in India which is enough for it mint money.
Shahid’s last film Padmaavat collected 300+ crore and Shraddha’s Stree, which was a mid-sized film, collected 100 crore. This successful streak will definitely benefit the movie as fans will be showing impressive footfalls at box office.
