Badhaai Ho and Namaste England released today to enjoy the Dussehra weekend. Out of the two, Badhaai Ho is doing really well and is leading the race at the box office. Its early reviews are also good which is benefiting it through a word of mouth.
Badhaai Ho’s 1st day morning box office occupancy is around 30%. This is a good fill rate for a mid sized film and content driven movies are doing great lately in Bollywood. Today being a holiday, there will be a boost in its occupancy in afternoon and evening shows. Its occupancy will rise to 60-70%.
Right from the trailer to songs, Badhaai Ho had won over the audience and its shows’ response is evident of that. Family entertainers with good message always do well in theaters and Ayushmann Khurrana is a very known face in such films. It is looking at an opening day of 7-8 crore, may even increase if it gets a great response as the day matures. The movie has a chance to become Ayushmann’s highest opening day movie.
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer Namaste England is dull on its 1st day morning. The crowd is simply not there for it, audience is preferring Badhaai Ho over it. Namaste England’s 1st day morning box office occupancy is around 10-15% which is not expected from a film that has two stars with a huge fan base.
This love story needs to show some footfalls in afternoon and evening otherwise it will face a tough competition from Badhaai Ho and won’t even earn a decent collections in opening weekend.
