S. S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2 has won everyone’s hearts all over the world with its epic story, wonderful visuals and grand battles and has become India’s biggest blockbuster ever. But, there is one person who has a different view on this grand film.
Gadar director Anil Sharma said that it is just matter of time. When Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released in 2001, it had done a business of 265 crore, which as per today’s calculations is 5000 crore. This is an expected statement as Baahubali 2 has collected earth shattering amount and has broken almost all the box office records ever written by Indian films.
Anil Sharma was speaking with media while he was present for the mahurat ceremony of his son Utkarsh’s debut film ‘Genius’. When such statements come, reporters are bound to ask questions. Sharma also answered those by saying that if some good films come, records would be broken. As far as Baahubali 2 is concerned, it has not yet set any record.
He added that Gadar had done a business of 265 crore when ticket prices were Rs. 25. As per today’s valuation, it is 5000 crore and Baahubali 2 has reached 1500 crore so no record is been set yet.
Well, this has been a shocking statement from Anil Sharma. Both Gadar and Baahubali 2 have created era of themselves so comparing them is not really a good idea.
