The Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar urged the Maharashtra government to build toilets in every nook and corner to make the state free from open defecation.
Akshay was speaking at a conclave ‘Transform Maharashtra’ on the occasion of 57th Maharashtra Day on 1st May. The Jolly LLB 2 actor said that government should plan mobile toilets every 500 meters or 1 km across the state. he also added that these toilets should be supported with an app to locate it.
The event was a very fruitful one and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis and Ratan Tata were also present. Akshay talked about the problems in our country regarding the lack of toilets and also applauded the efforts of changing people’s mindsets about the same.

Akshay will next be seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which covers the social issue of open defecation. He cited the dialogue from the film too, “Agar biwi paas chahiye, to ghar mein sandaas (toilet) chahiye”.
CM Fadnavis also took Akshay’s suggestions and said that he would initiate the measures to increase the number of toilets in the state.
